  • What is the difference between Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, and enterprise plan options?
    Microsoft has a variety of productivity and security management offerings for small to medium-sized businesses, each bringing increasingly powerful features and functionality. Microsoft 365 Business Basic provides access to lightweight web and mobile versions of apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as business email, cloud storage, and Microsoft Teams. Microsoft 365 Business Standard combines powerful desktop, web, and mobile versions of apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and additional apps such as Clipchamp, along with the same services as those in Business Basic. Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes all the same apps and services plus advanced cyberthreat protection and device management capabilities. Enterprise plan options offer increased levels of compliance and security management over business plans and provide additional business intelligence and analytics functionality. These plans are designed for enterprise customers and those with more than 300 users.
  • How will I activate my Microsoft 365 Business subscription after purchase?
    New Users: Licenses can be Activated Instantly by the user after placing the order. Renewals: For existing users, our executive will call you to assist with the activation process.
  • What types of AI features do I get with business plan options?
    Get AI features, including grammar and style suggestions with Microsoft Editor, focused inbox and suggested replies in Outlook, and live captions and meeting transcription in plans with Teams. For business users signed in with a Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat offers limited AI-powered chat with enterprise data protection. While Copilot Chat uses public web data for tasks such as research and analysis, it doesn’t integrate with Microsoft 365 apps or organizational content such as files, emails, or chats. For deeper integration and extensibility, businesses should purchase Microsoft 365 Copilot as an add-on, which connects directly to productivity apps and organizational data.
  • What’s the difference between monthly and annual commitment subscriptions?
    To provide you with the greatest amount of flexibility, different commitment terms and payment options are available. Monthly commitment with monthly payment: Sign up for a monthly subscription and pay month-to-month and cancel at any time. Annual commitment with monthly payment: Sign up for a one-year subscription and pay monthly. Annual commitment with annual payment: Sign up for a one-year subscription and pay for the entire year upfront.
  • What benefits do I get from business plan options that I can’t get with Microsoft 365 Personal and Family?

  • Does Microsoft 365 work when I'm not connected to the internet?
    The Microsoft 365 apps that you install on your PC or Mac—such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook—are available to you when you’re not online. With OneDrive in Microsoft 365, get file storage that you can access when you’re offline. When you make changes while offline, they’ll be synced to OneDrive and across the rest of your devices when you reconnect. With Outlook, read emails already delivered to your inbox, or draft new emails and meeting requests. Your inbox and outbox will sync across the rest of your devices when you reconnect.
  • How many devices can I install Microsoft 365 apps on if I have a Microsoft 365 business plan?
    Install Microsoft 365 apps on up to five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and five mobile devices. Hybrid Windows devices, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro, count as either a PC or a tablet.
  • What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
    Your data is yours. If you decide to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription, you can download your data—for example, your email and documents on team sites—and save it to another location. You should save your data before you cancel. After you cancel your subscription, data associated with your Microsoft 365 account will be available to your administrator(s) in a limited function account for 90 days.
  • What is the difference between Microsoft Defender and Windows Security?
    Microsoft Defender is a new cross-device app that helps people and families stay safer online. Microsoft Defender adds new features and a simplified, user interface. Microsoft Defender also brings valuable device protection to iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, with malware protection, web protection, real-time security notifications, and security tips.1, 2 Microsoft Defender is available in the Apple, Google, and Microsoft app stores and requires a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription to use. Windows Security, formerly known as Windows Defender Security Center, is built-in security on Windows PCs to protect your device and data. Windows Security is pre-installed and automatically enabled. Windows Security includes Microsoft Defender Antivirus software that protects your Windows device and data against viruses, ransomware, trojans, and other malware unless non-Microsoft Antivirus software is active.
  • How many users can I host for online meetings and video calls using Microsoft Teams?
    With Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, and Microsoft Apps for Business plans, you can host online meetings and video calls for up to 300 people using Microsoft Teams. With Microsoft 365 E3/E5, Microsoft 365 A3/A5, and Microsoft 365 Government G3/G5 plans, this limit increases up to 1,000 people.

  • How do I share my subscription benefits with members of my family?
    If you have an active Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you can share it with up to five other people. Each person you share your subscription with can install Microsoft 365 on all their devices and sign in to five devices at the same time. To add someone to your subscription, sign in to your Microsoft account and follow the on-screen instructions to add a user. Each person you add will receive an email with the steps they need to follow. Once they have accepted and completed the steps, their information, including the installs they are using, will appear on their My account page. You can stop sharing your subscription with someone or remove a device they are using by logging into your Microsoft account.
  • What is the Microsoft Family Safety app?
    The Microsoft Family Safety app empowers you and your family to create healthy habits and help protect the ones you love. With the Microsoft Family Safety app, you can set appropriate filters, limits, and permissions that are right for your family. As a Microsoft 365 Family subscriber, you get additional benefits in the Family Safety mobile app including location and driving safety alerts. Note: Microsoft 365 Family subscription required for location alerts and drive safety features. Availability varies by operating platform and market. Location permissions must be active to receive automatic arrival and departure alerts. Drive safety only available in US, UK, CA, and AU.
  • What is Microsoft Defender for Business?
    Microsoft Defender for Business is an endpoint security solution designed to help businesses with up to 300 employees. It helps protect against cybersecurity threats, including malware and ransomware, in an easy-to-use, cost-effective package. Microsoft Defender for Business is included with Microsoft 365 Business Premium and is available as a standalone product
  • What's the difference between monthly, annual, and annual commitment payments?
    To provide you with the greatest amount of flexibility, different payment options are available. Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Apps for business, Business Standard, and Business Premium plans are available for monthly commitment payment or annual commitment payment. Monthly commitment payment: Pay month by month and cancel at any time. Annual commitment payment: Sign up for a one-year subscription and benefit from a discount for using this payment option. By default, your billing plan will be set to monthly billing. After your purchase, you can change your billing plan to annual billing within the Admin Portal. The Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Office 365 Enterprise plans (including standalone plans such as Exchange Online) and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise are available for annual commitment payment. Annual commitment payment: Sign up for a one-year subscription and choose to pay monthly or for the entire year at the time you sign up.
  • What is the payment plan?

  • How do I buy and pay?
    You can pay by credit card, or depending on the location of your business, you may also pay by direct debit. You can also pre-pay by making a manual payment to your account. The credit will be automatically debited at the start of each month, instead of your primary form of payment being automatically charged.
  • What is a user?
    A user is defined as one personalized email address (you@yourcompany). Group email aliases such as sales@yourcompany and support@yourcompany are included in pricing and don't count as additional users.
  • How many people can use a Microsoft 365 subscription?
    You can share Microsoft 365 Family with five other people, for a total of six users. Microsoft 365 Personal can be used by one person.
  • What’s the difference between Office 2021 (one-time purchase) and Microsoft 365 (subscription)?
    Office 2021 is sold as a one-time purchase, which means you pay a single, up-front cost to get Office apps for one computer. One-time purchases are available for both PCs and Macs. However, there are no upgrade options, which means if you plan to upgrade to the next major release, you'll have to buy it at full price. Microsoft 365 is a subscription that includes the most collaborative, up-to-date features in one seamless, integrated experience. Microsoft 365 includes the robust Office desktop apps that you’re familiar with, like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You also get extra online storage and cloud-connected features that let you collaborate on files in real time. With a subscription, you'll always have the latest features, fixes, and security updates along with ongoing tech support at no extra cost. You can choose to pay for your subscription on a monthly or yearly basis, and the Microsoft 365 Family plan lets you share your subscription with your family for up to 6 people, and use your apps on multiple PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones.
  • Is internet access required for Microsoft 365?
    Internet access is required to install and activate all the latest releases of apps and services included in all Microsoft 365 subscription plans. Note that if you are an existing subscriber, you do not need to reinstall or purchase another subscription. For Microsoft 365 plans, Internet access is also needed to manage your subscription account, for example to install Office apps on other PCs or to change billing options. Internet access is also required to access documents stored on OneDrive, unless you install the OneDrive desktop app. You should also connect to the Internet regularly to keep your version of Microsoft 365 up to date and to benefit from automatic upgrades. If you do not connect to the Internet at least every 31 days, your apps will go into reduced functionality mode, which means that you can view or print your documents but cannot edit the documents or create new ones. To reactivate your apps, simply reconnect to the Internet. You do not need to be connected to the Internet to use the Office apps, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, because the apps are fully installed on your computer.
  • What is a Microsoft account and why do I need it for Microsoft 365?
    Your Microsoft account is the combination of an email address and password that you use to sign in to services like OneDrive, Xbox LIVE, and Outlook.com. If you use any of these services, you already have a Microsoft account that you can use or you can create a new account. As part of signing up for a trial or purchasing Microsoft 365, you will be prompted to sign in with a Microsoft account. You must be signed in with this account to install and manage your Microsoft 365 subscription, or to use some subscription benefits, including Cloud storage.
  • Do I keep control of my documents with a Microsoft 365 subscription?
    Yes. Documents that you have created belong fully to you. You can choose to store them online on OneDrive or locally on your PC or Mac.
  • Will Microsoft 365 be identical on a PC and on a Mac?
    No. Microsoft 365’s applications are tailored for each platform and each operating system. The applications available for Mac users and the specific features included may be different from those available for PC users. With Microsoft 365, you can be flexible. With your account, you are not limited to exclusively Mac or exclusively PC, so you can transition across devices.
